Responsibilities:
- Supervises the work of business office staff, assigns and trains them in their duties;
- Supervises the maintenance of receipts, disbursements and other financial records for all District funds;
- Work is performed under general direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Business with considerable leeway permitted for the exercise of independent judgment
- Oversees District business office processes, and financial operations
- Manage preparation of and issuance of periodic state and federal financial and statistical reports;
- Assist administration in financial projects and projections;
- Recommend for appointment, promotion, and transfer of personnel in the division;
- Conduct evaluations of personnel in the department;
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four years of experience in accounting, two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR
Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field and six years’ experience in accounting, two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and eight years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity
